ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF DIABETES AND RESEARCH (AIIDR)
All India Institute of Diabetes And Research is a charitable organisation. It was established in 2003 and registered under Society registration act. It is working for the benefits of millions of people with Diabetes. Main aim is awareness, screening, early detection, prevention, treatment, education & rehabilitation for the people with Diabetes.
Other aims are: - To carry out research on diabetes and related complications so as to improve the treatment of diabetes and to determine strategies to prevent diabetes and its complications. - To provide a first-class training environment for basic and clinical scientists in the field of Diabetes
It is the only institution in the entire state of Gujarat conducting basic and clinical research of international standards on diabetes and related complications. The institute is affiliated to Gujarat University and is associated for under graduate & postgraduate students with B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad and Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad for research & other collaboration. It is approved by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Federal Wide Assurance (FWA) for the Protection of Human Subjects. The activities of the Institutes are appreciated by Health Department, Government of Gujarat and the department has promised the support and co-operation. All the donations given to the institute are 50 % tax exempted.
To prevent diabetes and related complications in people with diabetes and people at high risk for diabetes, the institute organises free for all- awareness, education & detection camps. It is being organised on daily basis. For general population it is being organized once a week.
The institute also distributes educational book and supplies drugs to the needy people with diabetes free of charge.
The institute carries out educational activities for medicos, paramedicos as well as non medicos. Various activities organised by the institute for medicos are fellowship in diabetology, certificate course in diabetology, Updates, CMEs, national conference as well as international conference. The institute provides facilities for doing PhD. It also trains people to become dietitian, health educator and medical laboratory technician.
SWASTHYA DIABETES CARE (YASH DIABETES SPECIALITIES CENTRE PRIVATE LIMITED)
Swasthya Diabetes Care (Yash Diabetes Specialities Centre Private Limited) is the first of its kind in the western part of India having state of art technology providing all the specialty services specially related to diabetes “under one roof”. Its main aim is to prevent diabetes at primary, secondary and tertiary level. It is among the panel of recommended hospitals by Gujarat Medical Tourism, Government of Gujarat. Indian Medical Association (Ahmedabad) has awarded Best Clinic award for the year 2004-2005. The centre is making constant efforts to achieve excellence in clinical care, education and research. Over 75,000 patients treated over a period of 25 years are a living testimony to our dedication in the field. The centre will act as resource centre for capacity building and technical support.
THE WORLD DIABETES FOUNDATION
The World Diabetes Foundation is dedicated to supporting prevention and treatment of diabetes in developing countries. they focus on the following areas:
- Awareness of diabetes
- Prevention of diabetes and its complications
- Education and training of patients and health care professionals
- Enhancement of detection, treatment and monitoring of diabetes
They act as a catalyst to build relations among different stakeholders such as governments, diabetes organizations, hospitals and authorities to ensure continued existence of our initiatives after the completion of the World Diabetes Foundation funded projects.
Mission
- They create partnerships to assist people with diabetes and those at risk, acting as a catalyst to help others do more
- They link people and resources to educate and advocate globally and provide care locally
- Their priority is to support the poorest of the poor
- Their focus is on innovative strategies to prevent diabetes and its consequences
The WDF aims to empower local communities to achieve sustainable solutions and yield replicable models Bringing diabetes higher on the global agenda by entering into collaboration with recognized institutions in the areas of health, diabetes and development aid.
It is their hope that increased global awareness will help find the resources to address and potentially limit the epidemic.
The work to identify and develop new strategic partnerships has a high priority for the World Diabetes Foundation.
